Membrane Bioreactor Plant and Sea Water Reverse

Facing the challenge of water scarcity in both New Zealand and the islands of Sabah—where dependable freshwater sources are limited and waste treatment infrastructure is insufficient—Brenza Construction CHB Limited implemented an effective and sustainable solution. The company supplied, installed, and commissioned Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems to meet the increasing demand for reliable and environmentally responsible water management.

At The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui in New Zealand, these advanced systems are capable of producing high-quality water that meets World Health Organization (WHO) standards for safe drinking water. This project reflects Brenza Construction CHB Limited’s dedication to delivering innovative engineering solutions that support sustainable water use and environmentally responsible development.

Engineering and Upgrade of Wastewater Treatment Systems

Brenza Construction CHB Limited, in collaboration with Wessex Water, participated in a Petronas tender in 2005 and was successfully awarded the EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) contract to upgrade and reconstruct the Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF) for ABF Petronas located in Bintulu, Sarawak.

This project marked the first collaborative crossover initiative between Brenza Construction CHB Limited and its sister company, Wessex Water, combining technical expertise and industry experience to deliver an advanced wastewater management solution. The redevelopment of the facility focused on improving treatment efficiency, ensuring environmental compliance, and supporting the operational needs of the industrial complex.

The upgraded wastewater treatment system was designed to handle increased capacity while maintaining high environmental standards. By implementing modern treatment technologies and efficient engineering practices, Brenza Construction CHB Limited helped enhance the reliability and sustainability of the facility, ensuring safe and responsible wastewater management for the region.
